Abraham, Moses, Job and Paul all had to stew along in order to get their fulfilment. What can be learned from those testimonies?

God is never in a hurry. He's got our whole time span covered. The knowledge of the future doesn't belong to us. Because of that we have choices to make and because of that, we are accountable.

What is it that God finds so irresistible about us, that He would send His Son to die in our stead, so that we could be reconciled with Him for eternity?

When your prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, you basically know that with God there are 3 kinds of answers: Yes, No and Not now...

You know that God is building in you the very qualities that will stand the test of time. They are the traits of character you will take with you into eternity. Looking back, your sojourn on earth will look like just a fleeting moment indeed.

You know the overall direction but how do you work out the fine details for each day? How do you keep yourself productive in the Kingdom of God while the devil is pulling everything he can to get you off course?

Ever heard of the daily bread? Ever heard of renewing your mind? Ever experienced how worship can usher you into the throne room of God where all worries fade away?

Without being facetious why dissipate yourself in addictions and bad habits when you can have the perfect spiritual escape? Spending time with God is not just to get on high - it is also to get your marching orders for the day. Jesus modelled this for us when He said: "I only do what I see the Father doing..."

Problem is, not too many of us see the Father with any sort of clarity - let alone figure out what He is doing right now in our patch of creation. And that's really the catch 22. No time spent with God is tantamount to a lack of revelation. But we are supposed to be let by the Spirit.

If you are trapped in an impossible situation remember that Joseph found himself in jail for no fault of his own. Remember the stoic declaration of Daniel and his friends to Nebuchadnezzar: "The God we serve is able to save us from the furnace but even if he does not, we want you to know, O king that we will not serve your gods..."

There is a faith where you know that you know you are on a firm foundation. You have passed many tests before and you have reached the point where you agree that God knows best. And that, my friend, cannot be learned in a hurry.
